Senior Research Investigator, Emerging Technology

The Solid Tumor Translational Development Disease Team (ST-TDDT) is looking for a thoughtful, innovative, and highly motivated Senior Research Investigator to join our Cambridge, MA based team. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to the group, by designing and executing on scientific strategies to investigate mechanisms of resistance to cancer therapies. They will be an expert in conducting sophisticated experimental work in a translational setting, including, but not limited to the development of novel cellular, molecular and biochemical assays to study pathological mechanisms in cancer and inform opportunities for new therapeutic interventions. The ideal candidate will also have a documented understanding of the complex interplay between the tumor and tumor microenvironment, and its role in immune evasion and therapeutic resistance. A significant component of the role will also involve the identification, evaluation and implementation of emerging technologies to complement established approaches within the ST-TDDT and address key mechanism of resistance hypotheses. Some experience working with emerging 'omics platforms (e.g., proteomics, metabolomics) is highly desired.
Additional expectations of the role include: serving as a thought leader within the team to critically evaluate literature, provide scientific insights and inform program strategies; independently designing, executing and interpreting experiments to generate decisional data; supporting scientific associates in the design, execution and interpretation of experiments; introducing and troubleshooting new methods, platforms and project concepts; and liaising with external partners to evaluate and deploy new capabilities. The qualified candidate should be capable of working on multiple projects within a highly-matrixed, multi-disciplinary research environment. The position requires exceptional communication skills and an ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
